Our Mission
Strengthening families in Berks County by building positive relationships and promoting healthy marriages through education, advocacy, collaboration, and mobilization.

How Did We Start?
Spurred by faith-based leaders this community-based effort was created to promote pre-marital training, marriage enrichment, couple communication and family strengthening. Today, Strengthening Families First has members from many sectors of the county including: government agencies, the religious community, social service agencies, schools, the private sector and the media.
 

Goals:
Strengthening Families First will:

·         Increase the knowledge and skill of couples and individuals so they can form and sustain healthy relationships in an effort to improve the well-being of families, marriages and children.

·         Increase the knowledge and skill of couples and individuals in an effort to encourage responsible parenthood.

·         Build the infrastructure necessary to effectively reach out to and serve its targeted populations so it can fulfill its mission in the community.
