Ecstasy & Other Club Drug Project
The Ecstasy and Other Club Drugs Project is designed to reveal misperceptions
about and reduce the use of ecstasy and other dangerous drugs among the youth in
Berks County.
Twice each year, students from the Reading and Wilson School Districts will
complete surveys designed to reveal their perceptions about the use and
available of certain drugs as well as the effectiveness of the project.
Project staff, students, school staff, and community members will work
together to develop a media campaign that will include messages dispelling myths
and promoting the fats about drug use and availability in those school
districts.
Should this project prove successful, it will be utilized throughout the
state as an effective approach to prevention.
Funding:
The Ecstasy and Other Club Drugs Project is funded though a five-year grant from
the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. The grantee is the Pennsylvania
Department of Health and the Community Prevention Partnership is the community
organization selected to implement the project in Berks County.
