Communities Empowering Youth

The Communities Empowering Youth (CEY) Program works to strengthen communities by building their capacity so they are better able to serve youth. Capacity building activities are designed to:

• Increase a group or organization's sustainability and effectiveness

• Enhance its ability to provide social services

• Develop and/or diversify its funding sources

• Create effective collaborations to better serve those most in need

Partners:

• Berks County Prevention Coalition

• Boyertown Communities that Care

• Reading/Berks Conference of Churches

• Reading Communities that Care

• Wilson Communities that Care

Training:

Community Partners in the Communities Empowering Youth Program receive training in four critical areas:

• Leadership development

• Organizational development

• Program development

• Community engagement

Outcomes:

Capacity building has resulted in:

• Development of websites for Partners

• Purchase of technology equipment

• Audit of youth services

• Curriculum development

• Consulting for strategic planning

• Purchase of incentives

• Marketing materials

• Youth leadership training

• Professional development

Funding:
Funding for the Communities Empowering Youth Program is provided by the Capital Compassion Fund of the Administration for Children and Families.
